Caring for someone with a long term mental health problem can often be difficult and worrying for the people around them. Furthermore, the needs of carers are varied and likely to change from time to time. There is also often a lack of understanding about mental illness which can make carers feel even more isolated and in need of help and support.
Connect Support is an organisation which is involved in a wide range of activities to address the diverse needs of carers. In addition to providing our own carer support service, volunteer scheme and support groups, we also work closely with other mental health services, organisations and education programmes to increase understanding of carer issues and help develop effective carer services.
